BLM Budget Update: “Cut and Kill” Policy

Current federal budget proposes to drastically eliminate wild horses

The cut and kill policy for America’s wild horse program is completely unacceptable.

In order to cut the costs for long-term holding corrals and other expenses, the new budget would allow for what we see as a “cut and kill” policy.

This includes the “humane euthanasia and unrestricted sale of certain excess animals” where horse slaughter is considered to be a viable option. If the current budget passes, it puts America’s wild horses in great jeopardy!
